Responsibilities
- Perform finite element modeling for crash and durability load cases.
- Conduct linear and nonlinear analysis on structural components and vehicle designs.
- Carry out computer simulations for vehicle crash scenarios and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of established CAE methods and processes.
- Optimize the performance of various vehicle subsystems using CAE tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide design direction based on analyses.
- Create and adapt new tools as necessary for analysis tasks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, and Material Science.
- Experience with CAE software tools such as ANSA, PRIMER, and LS-DYNA.
- Familiarity with materials including aluminum, steel, and composites for crashworthiness.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex engineering problems.
- Strong analytical skills for deconstructing crash test scenarios.
- Experience in fast-paced, iterative engineering environments.
- Basic scripting skills in Python or similar languages.
