In this role, the AML Advisory Team Lead will be responsible for handling day-to-day coverage associated with the AML Compliance Program (AML Program) factoring in industry "best practices" and providing guidance to the front office and cross-department stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining an in-depth understanding of how Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC/Sanctions, FinCEN, and FINRA/SEC requirements apply in practice to all aspects of the Clearing (Direct and Indirect) and Wealth Management business lines in the BD Securities Division.
• Supporting the AML advisory function for the respective business line coverage (CIP/KYC/CDD onboarding, front office, operations/treasury, etc.).
• Handling and resolving AML escalations from the front office, CIP/KYC/CDD onboarding, operations/treasury, as well as other AML functions such as Transaction Monitoring (TM).
• Reviewing EDD escalations and evaluating complex account structures, issues, and transactions.
• Ensuring timely completion of assigned cases and escalation of issues that require AML management attention and/or review.
• Assisting with updating relevant policies and procedures.
• Compiling and providing materials requested during independent audits and regulatory exams.
• Reviewing and providing feedback on complex or high-risk KYC cases, ensuring adherence to internal policy, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.
• Acting as a point of escalation for CIP/KYC/CDD and EDD Reviews and keeping an ongoing dialogue with onboarding team on a regular basis.
• Performing other duties as assigned by your line manager.
• Providing ad hoc training & guidance on CIP/KYC/CDD requirements as needed; establish escalation path.
• Collaborating with other AML stakeholders and first line functions in connection with projects to enhance the existing AML Program.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in AML and related AML, OFAC/Sanctions, FinCEN, and FINRA/SEC regulations and requirements.
• Must have at least 5 years of direct experience in AML specifically dedicated to the Business Line Advisory, KYC/CDD, or Enhanced Due Diligence & Investigations.
• Must have experience with the broker-dealer correspondent clearing business (direct and indirect) line and understanding of the application of an AML Program to the relevant products or services involved.
• Experience advising financial services front office teams, particularly with respect to HNW and UHNW customers, in connection with complex AML-related matters.
• A strong collaborative and positive team spirit, with the ability to foster good working relationships within the AML team, as well as with other departments.
• Must be able to clearly communicate effective and practical solutions in response to AML issues escalated from the front office and other relevant stakeholders.
• Good execution skills with attention to detail and focus on clear, realistic action steps and timelines.
• Ability to make timely and effective decisions by appropriately assessing AML risk and exercising good judgement.
• CAMS designation preferred or must obtain within 12 months from hire.

Pay

Hiring Salary Range $90,000 - $125,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.) Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
