AMI Field Analyst III

About the role

The AMI Analyst III serves as the senior operational and technical expert responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of SECO Energy’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and availability of meter data through advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational analytics. The AMI Analyst III provides day-to-day technical leadership and direction to the AMI Analyst team, coordinating workload priorities, promoting best practices, and supporting consistent operational performance.

Acting as the primary escalation point for complex AMI issues, this role partners closely with the AMI Services Manager, IT, Billing, Engineering, and Member Services to ensure seamless system operations and exceptional service delivery. While this is not a supervisory role, the AMI Analyst III is expected to guide, mentor, and support team members and lead operational initiatives that enhance the overall effectiveness, reliability, and transparency of AMI systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior operational and technical expert for SECO Energy’s AMI and MDMS systems.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of AMI and MDMS.
• Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and availability of meter data through advanced monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the AMI Analyst team, coordinating workload priorities and promoting best practices.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex AMI issues.
• Collaborate with AMI Services Manager, IT, Billing, Engineering, and Member Services to ensure seamless system operations.
• Mentor and support team members, leading operational initiatives to enhance system effectiveness and reliability.

Requirements

• Minimum: Two (2) year associate degree from an accredited institution in a field supporting analytical, technical, or systems-based work relevant to AMI, utility operations, or information systems.
• Preferred: Four (4) year bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Preferred: Coursework, certifications, or formal training related to information systems, data analysis, utility systems, networking, or project coordination.
• Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Minimum: Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience supporting AMI systems, Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), or related utility technologies.
• Preferred: Experience in electric utility operations, AMI system optimization, or operational data analysis.
• Preferred: Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership or mentoring within a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for occasional use of a company vehicle.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.

Schedule

Normal work hours are eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday, between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.
