Amharic Linguist - Transcription and Translation

About the role

GeoPoll is a mobile research and AI data company operating across more than 120 countries. We are expanding our Amharic audio work and need experienced linguists to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Post-editing AI-generated transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and language quality
• Utilize our designated transcription platform to perform transcription tasks
• Review and correct AI-generated transcriptions, ensuring accuracy and linguistic integrity to produce finalized, high-quality transcripts
• Translate, review, and correct AI-translated text from native language to English on our designated translation platform

Requirements

• Native or near-native Amharic
• Strong written English
• Prior transcription or translation experience, ideally with audio
• Comfort working on web-based transcription and translation tools
• High attention to detail and consistency across long files
• A reliable computer, stable internet, and headphones
• Availability to start now and handle consistent volume

Engagement

• Freelance and fully remote
• Paid per audio hour, based on task and experience
• Immediate start, with ongoing work based on performance
