About the role

Ayala High School at Chino Valley Unified School District is seeking a Temporary American Sign Language Teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches skills and knowledge in foreign language instruction to secondary pupils utilizing appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops pupil understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where foreign language is spoken.
  • Evaluates each pupil’s progress in aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing the foreign language in relationship to the level being taught, and prepares progress reports.
  • Creates (with assistance of pupils, if desired) bulletin boards and other displays of materials to motivate language learning.
  • Develops weekly lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy and curriculum of the District.
  • Provides students with the opportunity to partake in daily patriotic observance.
  • Maintains a clean and safe classroom environment, notifying principal of any unclean or unsafe classroom conditions.
  • Makes students responsible for putting materials, supplies, tools, etc., safely and neatly away at the end of the class session.

  • Valid California Single Subject Credential: World Language, American Sign Language - English Learner Authorization
  • A detailed screenshot from Commission on Teacher Credentialing website (ctc.ca.gov) including your name, name of single subject credential, document number, and expiration date.
  • Copy of Transcript (Undergraduate and Graduate transcripts including your conferral dates.)
  • Credential Copy (A detailed screenshot from the CTC website.)
  • English Learner Authorization (If your ELA is embedded in your credential, upload the screenshot of your detailed credential to satisfy this requirement.)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation - must be signed and dated within the last 24 months. Only wet signatures and e-signatures will be accepted; names typed out in a stylized font will not be accepted as a signature. Letters from relatives are not acceptable.
  • Resume (Current)
