American Sign Language – Language Facilitator

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language
• Knowledge and experience in educational and other interpreting situations
• Prior to Interpreter Training Program preferred

Pay Range

$23.31 - $30.17 per hour

Responsibilities

• Facilitate generalization of vocabulary
• Facilitate communication between the deaf student, staff and other students in the general education setting
• Support general education staff and students in follow through of techniques for working with a deaf/hard of hearing student after in-services by Teacher of DHH
• Provide input as needed in the development of the IEP
• Act as a tutor when appropriate and as outlined in the IEP
• Prepare reports, in accordance with established procedures and forms, regarding students' progress
