Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in a variety of settings including meetings, training sessions, conferences, departmental operations, and one-on-one interactions.
• Ensure effective communication and meaningful participation across the organization.
• Interpret in person, virtually, or by phone.

Requirements

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a public service or similar setting.
• Knowledge of CAL FIRE policies and procedures.
