Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking adjunct instructors to teach American Sign Language (ASL)/English Interpretation Instructors on campus. Part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the experience of the applicant, in graduate education in the field, related full-time occupational employment, and full-time equivalent teaching.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpretation or related field; or Associate’s degree in ASL-English Interpretation or related field.
- Two years of experience as an ASL-English interpreter.
- Possess current and valid national interpreter certification.
Additional Considerations
- Previous community college teaching experience
- Proven ability to routinely incorporate technology into instruction and faculty responsibilities
- Proficient in using Canvas (LMS) for course development and teaching
- Documented training and experience teaching via Zoom
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multicultural populations, supporting diversity, cultural understanding, and inclusion
- Skilled in using a personal computer and current Microsoft Office programs
