American Red Cross Sheltering Volunteers Needed – Join Our Disaster Response in Alvarado Texas
The American Red Cross is currently building a queue of sheltering volunteers to support communities during disasters such as home fires, severe weather, and large-scale emergencies.
About the role
Volunteers will assist in providing emergency shelter, food, water, and other essential supplies to those affected by disasters. They may also provide emotional support and help with basic needs like hygiene and medical assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and maintaining emergency shelters
- Provide food, water, and other essential supplies to disaster victims
- Offer emotional support and help with basic needs
- Participate in training sessions to ensure readiness for disaster response
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Willingness to commit to a minimum of 12 months of service
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (will be provided if needed)
