Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse

US Fertility, the nation’s leading partnership of physician-led fertility practices, is redefining what it means to build a career in reproductive medicine. We have an immediate opening for an Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Clear Lake, Texas. This position will be moving to the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM, on call every 3rd weekend from 5:30 AM to 11:30 AM as needed.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Nurse will:

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
• Provide patient education

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2 to 3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
