Ambulatory RN- Allergy Clinic

About the Role

This position emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, assisting patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and effectively through their episode of care. The role involves delegating, overseeing, and providing quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate patient care across all listed locations, including Main Campus. Some clinics operate until 6:30 PM, and this is a rotational position.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
• Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure smooth clinic flow, addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive outcomes.
• Documents care according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings.

Requirements

• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date if not already held.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

The role involves the following physical demands:

• Occasionally: Biohazard waste, climbing stairs/ladder, color vision, driving motor vehicles (work required), electricity, fumes/gases/vapors, lifting/carrying 41-60 lbs, loud noises, machinery, power tools, pushing/pulling 100 lbs or greater with assistance, pushing/pulling 61-100 lbs, seeing (far/near).
• Frequently: Bending/twisting, exposure to blood and/or bodily fluids, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases and/or pathogens, depth perception, flexing/extending of neck, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), patient equipment, peripheral vision, pushing/pulling 0-25 lbs, pushing/pulling 26-40 lbs, pushing/pulling 41-60 lbs, reaching above shoulder, sitting, squatting/kneeling.
• Continuously: Audible speech, computer skills, decision making, hearing acuity, interpreting data, lifting/carrying 0-10 lbs, lifting/carrying 11-20 lbs, lifting/carrying 21-40 lbs, problem solving, repetitive hand/arm use, standing, walking.
