Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients according to established procedures.
- Implements and coordinates the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, intervention, and evaluation.
- Coordinates the implementation of the prescribed medical regimen and evaluates patient responses.
- Performs extended functions such as insurance authorizations, referral reviews, medical clearances, and procedure scheduling.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers to manage the patient's care plan.
- Participates in educational, quality assurance, and research activities.
- Delegates, supervises, and coordinates nursing care activities provided by support staff.
- Assumes charge position responsibilities as delegated.
- Participates in performance appraisals and committee activities.
Basic Knowledge
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
Licensure and Certification
- Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or through the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
- Current BLS certification with the American Heart Association.
Experience
- Related experience and credentials as indicated.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
- Ambulatory patient care setting, exposed to communicable diseases.
- Independent action within departmental policies and practices.
- Refers complex problems to the Clinical Program Manager.
Pay Range
$35.70-$71.40
