Position Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric clinical services to patients within the Department of Psychiatry’s ambulatory clinic (primary responsibility) and inpatient unit (providing coverage).
- This position may also rotate at VCU Health’s ambulatory sites in the community, such as VCU-NOW, and provide tele-psychiatry services.
- Teach, supervise, and mentor residents, medical students, and fellows.
- Attend weekly Department Grand Rounds, participate in CME and professional development, and engage in “good citizenship” and other service activities assigned by division and department.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Virginia Licensed or eligible, BC/BE Psychiatrist with interest in working primarily in an outpatient psychiatry setting and with trainees.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Overall experience of 3-5 years as a practicing psychiatrist preferred, but not required. Experience and/or certification in Geropsychiatry.
