About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care, assess patients, administer medications, and implement a plan of care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and shared governance.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care as defined within the state’s nurse practice act.
- Assesses patients’ physiological and cognitive status and formulates a prioritized and goal-directed plan of care.
- Administers prescribed medications, infusions, and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Functions to establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources.
- Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the healthcare process and documents in patient and department records.
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to providers.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Compiles tests and examination results.
- Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training, and requirements of Stormont Vail Health.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Preferred experience in a clinic setting.
- Preferred Registered Nurse - Kansas Board of Nursing (RQN).
- A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
