Ambulatory Associate Medical Director
Job Summary
The Associate Medical Director works collaboratively with the Ambulatory Division Medical Director, Ambulatory Division Leadership, members of the Ambulatory team, and Inter-Division leadership as needed to support clinical care, clinic operations, and quality and regulatory efforts to optimize our mental health system by striving to improve our performance on the quadruple aim. The Associate Medical Director is also responsible for supporting education, training, and research within the Division and Institute.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clinical operations within the Division
- Participate in meetings relevant to the Ambulatory Division
- Help track and plan for clinical coverage needs and contribute to coverage
- Implement strategic plans and support program development
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Work with the PMHI Medical Director and Ambulatory Division Medical Director in monitoring the practice of psychiatrists and APPs within the Division in regard to Hospital Medical Staff Office, University and CU Medicine
Other Responsibilities/All Faculty Requirements
- Support the fiscal and operational goals of their Divisions and PMHI as a whole
- Provide career development mentorship to junior and senior faculty
- Support the design, assessment, and implementation of innovative clinical services within their Divisions and PMHI as a whole
- Maintain eligibility for SOM faculty appointment
- Contribute the Department’s teaching and scholarship in ways consistent with the expectations of senior University faculty, advancing the standing of the Department
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provides direct clinical services in Division and Department programs as determined in coordination with Department Leadership and as needed
- Participates in on call duties

Qualifications
- Instructor: MD/DO, Board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 1-3 years of experience at rank or equivalent experience
- Senior Instructor: MD/DO, Board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 1-3 years of experience at rank or equivalent experience
- Assistant Professor: MD/DO, Board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 1-3 years of experience at rank or equivalent experience
- Associate Professor: MD/DO, Board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 4-7 years of experience at rank or equivalent experience
- Professor: MD/DO, Board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 7+ years of experience at rank or equivalent experience
