About the role
Bristol Ambulance (Part of EMED Group) have a fantastic opportunity for Ambulance Care Assistants to join their team based in Bristol. They are seeking compassionate individuals to provide essential support to patients during their medical journeys.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the transportation of 'end of life' patients, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times
- Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends
- Responsible for lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the Ambulance
- Aid with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes
- Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical settings
- Ensuring that the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving license (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21)
- Experience in Care (HCA, Support worker, etc) - advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs
