About the role
Performs and or assists in transporting of patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient’s condition.
Responsibilities
- Performs and or assists in transporting of patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient’s condition.
- Operates mechanical ventilators.
- Operates under REMS and department protocols to include special MD orders.
- Perform IV/IO access including ED.
- May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of work experience as a cleared ALS provider with a 911 agency, inter-facility, transport agency or equivalent
- State EMT/Paramedic certification. Advance Life Support Attendant: Paramedic. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
- Valid Driver's License
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Must remain calm and organized in emergent situations.
- Must be available for rotating shifts as required.
- Must have keen sense of responsibility, ability to make decisions, and work independently.
- Must have good judgment.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to interact effectively with the public.
- May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention.
Qualifications
- Must be available to work six shifts per six week schedule to include at least two weekend shifts.
- Must be available to work two Holidays annually.

Pay
The base compensation for this role is $35.35 hourly. Please note that the pay rate does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
