About the role

Responsibilities

• Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers.
• Serve orders promptly and accommodate special needs/requests.
• Remain attentive to customers throughout their dining experience.
• Complete restocking and cleaning duties as instructed.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area.
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to assist customers.
• Control guest checks accurately and document all required information.
• Receive and verify payment from guests.
• Attend and participate in pre-meal and departmental meetings.
• Respond to customer inquiries and comments in a timely and knowledgeable manner.
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Provide quality customer service by maintaining a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar position of at least 3 months.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles, the food server function, and restaurant and kitchen operations.
• Fluency in oral and written English.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering throughout the shift.
• Continuous standing, mobility, and continuous mobility during preparation and service hours.
• Moderate hearing to hear customers, supervisors, and communicate with other staff.
• Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent vision to see that product is prepared appropriately.
• Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
