Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble intricate aluminum products by strictly following blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Execute precision cutting and shaping of aluminum materials using specialized power tools, including saws, drills, and industrial shears.
- Measure and fit components with high accuracy to ensure seamless integration during the installation of commercial and residential marine structures.
- Maintain a secure work environment by consistently adhering to rigorous shipyard safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with team members to streamline the fabrication process and meet demanding project timelines for industrial and federal clients.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely to move and position materials throughout the shipyard facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an Aluminum Fitter specifically within a shipyard setting.
- Proven proficiency in aluminum fabrication techniques and the operation of industrial machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and translate complex technical blueprints into finished products.
- Physical capability to lift heavy materials and perform labor-intensive tasks in a marine environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of maintaining high accuracy in measurement and fitting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a formal maritime fabrication or welding apprenticeship program.
- Advanced knowledge of marine-grade aluminum alloys and specialized coastal construction standards.
- Experience mentoring junior fitters or assisting with team safety training.
Pay
$30 per hour.
