Alternative Family Living / AFL

About the role

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking an Alternative Family Living (AFL) Provider in North Carolina. As an AFL provider, you will offer a stable and caring home where an individual with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges can live, grow, and integrate into the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour supports and habilitation to an individual with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
• Offer a home setting that promotes daily living skills and independence for the individual.
• Support the individual in attending a day program or receiving other services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and guidelines for alternative family living arrangements.

Requirements

• CNA or DSP experience is preferred.
• The position is an independent contractor and not an employment position.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal and sensitive information.
• Willingness to adapt to the unique needs of each individual.
