About the role

A Tailor/Fitter at Nordstrom delivers exceptional customer service through high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring each garment fits perfectly and meets customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size and fit garments on customers, marking areas requiring alterations
• Perform and complete customer fittings on time, following Nordstrom’s alteration guidelines and service standards
• Meet department and individual productivity goals while adhering to proper processes and procedures
• Utilize store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs
• Collaborate with the Alterations and Store Team to deliver on customer expectations
• Educate customers and employees on proper fit, style, construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner
• Operate sewing and pressing machinery, as well as standard alterations equipment, safely and efficiently

Requirements

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience (minimum 2-3 years preferred)
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to a flexible working schedule based on business needs

Pay

Hourly pay range: $23.75 – $41.25, dependent on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
