About the role
The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role involves welcoming and servicing customers, managing customer flow, and ensuring that items are ready for pickups.
Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers with genuine enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, adapt styles to suit customers, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
- Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star customer experience.
- Meet all service vows, including preparing, welcoming, meeting needs, and being there for customers, adhering to operational checklists.
- Proactively address customer concerns with confidence, escalating issues when necessary.
- Promote alterations services and personalization options, maintaining a clean and organized alterations room.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and adhering to first-quality standards.
- Support cash wrap behaviors and processes transactions accurately to ensure every customer feels celebrated.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room.
- Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Reach for tools and objects with hands and arms.
- Climb stairs.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand.
- Move throughout the store.

- Use computers, electronic devices, and phones for long periods.

- Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as using POS terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers, and receiving or initiating telephone calls.
- Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David’s Bridal standards, as needed.
- Able to lift up to 10 pounds.

Pay
The starting rate of pay offered will vary based on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, training, and/or experience, and internal equity. The base pay range of $17-18/hr is specific to the state this role is posted in and may not be applicable to other locations.
