About the role
The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and service customers over the phone, in person, and through virtual chats with genuine enthusiasm.
- Communicate clearly and solve problems to adapt to customer styles.
- Manage customer flow using systems to ensure a five-star customer experience.
- Meet service vows including preparing, welcoming, meeting needs, and being there for customers.
- Proactively address customer concerns with confidence and escalate appropriately.
- Promote alterations services and personalization options to customers.
- Maintain store standards, dress code, and cleanliness.
- Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
- Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise according to quality control guidelines.
- Build long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and adhering to first quality standards.
- Perform cash wrap behaviors and processes transactions accurately.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized alterations room.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
- 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Excellent phone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks.
- Manual dexterity to operate POS terminals, count money, and perform fitting tasks.
- Knowledge of David’s Bridal standards for alterations and personalization.
