About the role

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to delivering top-notch customer service. This role requires a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various customer interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers with enthusiasm over the phone, in person, and through virtual chats, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Manage customer flow using all necessary systems to provide a five-star customer experience.
  • Meet all service vows, including preparing, welcoming, meeting needs, and being there for customers, adhering to all operational checklists.
  • Proactively address customer concerns with confidence, escalating issues when necessary and collaborating with leadership.
  • Promote alterations services and personalization options, building long-term relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and ensuring first-quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Participate in cash wrap behaviors and processes transactions accurately to ensure every customer feels celebrated.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues and maintain a clean, organized alterations room.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store management.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1-2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) systems is advantageous.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Reach for tools and objects with hands and arms.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room.
