About the role
The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical labor.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and service customers over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- Manage customer flow to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary, working closely with leadership.
- Promote alterations services and personalize options to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized alterations area to provide a flawless shopping experience.
- Lift and move merchandise as needed, following quality control guidelines.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and adhering to first-quality standards.
- Perform cash wrap duties accurately and assist with customer transactions.
- Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
- Ensure the alterations room is clean and well-organized.
Requirements
Essential requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store setting, and prior sewing experience is helpful. Computerized POS system experience is also preferred.
Qualifications
Qualifications include strong interpersonal skills, excellent phone and written communication, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Skills
Key skills include customer service, problem-solving, multitasking, and attention to detail. Proficiency with computerized POS systems is beneficial.
