About the role
The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical labor.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and service customers over the phone, in person, and through virtual chats with genuine enthusiasm and clear communication.
- Manage customer flow using all systems to ensure a five-star customer experience.
- Resolve customer concerns with confidence, escalating issues as necessary and working collaboratively with leadership.
- Promote alterations services and personalization options, building long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and adhering to first-quality standards.
- Perform duties as assigned by store management, maintaining a clean and organized alterations room.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
- One to two years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with a POS (Point of Sale) system.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Reach for tools and objects with hands and arms.
- Climb stairs.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand.
- Move throughout the store.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and visually.
- Manual dexterity to perform non-selling responsibilities, such as using POS terminals, counting money, steaming garments, accessing computers, and receiving or initiating telephone calls.
- Manual dexterity to sew and perform fittings to David’s Bridal standards, as needed.
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds.
