About the role
The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical labor.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and service customers over the phone, in person, and through virtual chats, using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- Manage customer flow to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary, working collaboratively with leadership.
- Promote alterations services and personalization options to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized alterations room, adhering to store standards and quality control guidelines.
- Process special orders, pick-ups, and adhere to first-quality standards for merchandise.
- Support cash wrap activities and ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Assist with inventory management and assist the Alterations Manager with customer issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
- 1-2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
- Prior sewing experience is helpful.
- Experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) systems is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly over the phone and in virtual chats.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks like pressing and steaming garments.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards in customer service and inventory management.
