About the role

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical labor.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and service customers over the phone, in person, and through virtual chats, using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage customer flow to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary, working collaboratively with leadership.
  • Promote alterations services and personalization options to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized alterations room, adhering to store standards and quality control guidelines.
  • Process special orders, pick-ups, and adhere to first-quality standards for merchandise.
  • Support cash wrap activities and ensure accurate transaction processing.
  • Assist with inventory management and assist the Alterations Manager with customer issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store management.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1-2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) systems is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly over the phone and in virtual chats.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple customer interactions simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks like pressing and steaming garments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards in customer service and inventory management.
