About the role

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a crucial part in the Alterations department, contributing to a superior customer service experience. This role requires a mix of customer interaction, inventory management, and physical labor.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and service customers over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, using clear and concise communication to solve problems and meet customer needs.
  • Manage customer flow to ensure a seamless shopping experience, adhering to service vows and operational checklists.
  • Address customer concerns proactively and escalate issues as necessary, working collaboratively with leadership to resolve complex problems.
  • Promote alterations services and personalization options, building long-term relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and adhering to first-quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Perform cash wrap duties accurately, ensuring every customer feels valued and celebrated.
  • Assist the Alterations Manager in addressing customer issues that cannot be resolved independently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized alterations room, fulfilling duties assigned by store management.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • One to two years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) systems is advantageous.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with POS systems.
  • Physical dexterity for sewing and fitting garments.

The standard base pay range for this role is posted with a minimum and maximum rate. The starting rate of pay offered will vary based on factors including position offered, location, training, and experience, and internal equity.

Schedule

This is a full-time opportunity with flexible weekday hours, with the option to join for weekends only.
