About the role
We are looking for a team leader to lead and manage a team of learning support assistants, providing day-to-day guidance, morning briefings, regular 1:1 meetings, developmental reviews, and appraisals. The Additional Learning Support area is responsible for providing support across the College to full and part-time learners with a range of learning difficulties/disabilities, including specific learning difficulties, autistic spectrum, ADHD/ADD, visual impairment, deaf and hard of hearing, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, physical disabilities, and mental health issues.
Our aim is for all students with additional support needs to have equal access to the curriculum and work towards meeting their full potential. The team works closely with curriculum staff to organise and implement tailored support programmes, including:
- Specialist Teaching
- Specialist Assignment Support
- In-class Support
- Small Group Workshops
- Equipment Support
- Specialist Counselling
- Mentoring
- Exam Access Arrangements
- Assistive Technology Support
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of learning support assistants
- Provide day-to-day guidance, morning briefings, and regular 1:1 meetings
- Conduct developmental reviews and appraisals
- Support the team in delivering high-quality, empowering support to learners with SEND
- Collaborate with curriculum staff to organise and implement tailored support programmes
