About the role
Aloft Mountain View is a fun boutique hotel located near Googleplex in Mountain View, California. We are seeking an energetic, customer service-oriented, and motivated Bartender to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis.
- Requisition and stock of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
- Maintain stock, cut, and store of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
- Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
- Lock up and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least six months of experience as a Bartender.
- Food handler and TIPS (or equivalent) certifications.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Communicate well with guests.
- Willingness to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
