AlmaVia of Camarillo - Med Tech (NOC shift)

Responsibilities
- Prepares and passes medication for residents as ordered by a physician, reporting any medication errors, side effects or problems to supervisor or physician
- Documents administration or refusal of medication in required format and style
- Maintains documentation and communication log in accordance with required procedures, using electronic system when appropriate
- Reorders meds as needed, following appropriate protocols
- Following medication policies and procedures, responsible for the delivery, ordering, re-ordering, storage, documentation and destruction of medications
- Insures that medication is available when needed through on time refills
- Orders labs as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working experience with computerized Point of Care and other systems
- 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred
- Successful completion of Med Tech Training program and Medication Aide/Medication Tech certification in state, as required
- Minimum of six months experience in long term care, home care, or a related field
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English language
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Successful completion of background check, drug screen, and other pre-employment testing as required by state (may include fingerprinting and/or pre-employment physical)
