About the Role

Ally Invest Trading and Client Service Representatives provide exceptional customer service to clients regarding their Ally Invest accounts. This call center role involves handling account maintenance requests, trading and margin inquiries, complex options strategies, and more. Strong customer service, relationship building, and communication skills are essential.

Upon hire, candidates must be able to be registered with FINRA in all 52 states. The call center operates from 7 AM ET to 10 PM ET, with specific shifts varying by location (Charlotte/Weaverville in EST and Lewisville in CST). Some shifts include a 10% additional shift differential pay for all hours worked.

Responsibilities

  • Place trades for customers over the telephone using desktop trading products.
  • Assist customers by answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling Live Chats.
  • Facilitate execution of customer orders and resolve complex trading issues.
  • Work with margin accounts, review buying power, and maintain maintenance levels.
  • Assist customers with complex and advanced orders or account questions; troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Process and research client account information to correct or minimize issues.
  • Service internal requests and maintain inventory positions to mitigate firm risk.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner.
  • Partner with support and operations teams to improve accuracy and efficiency in the trading service environment.
  • Understand, comply with, and reinforce regulatory and firm policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 or 66 licenses required.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows XP, Mac OS X).
  • Proven experience in desktop trading tools.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone and email, establishing credibility and trust with clients.
  • 1+ years of prior investment or operations-related experience (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of the financial services/trading industry and trading platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and internet applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team under strict time constraints and high-pressure environments with SLA deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to prioritize tasks in a multi-task environment.
  • Experience processing client service requests in a full-service retail brokerage environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to process constructive feedback while aligning with corporate and end-user goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with a strong desire to provide exceptional customer experiences.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and adapt to new tasks with little notice.
  • Minimum 1 year of client-related support in financial services, brokerage, or a related environment.
  • Knowledge or experience working in financial services or other regulated environments is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience (preferred).

Schedule

Charlotte & Weaverville (EST):

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
  • 11:30 AM–8:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
  • Options including Saturdays:
    • Tuesday-Friday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday 9:30 AM–6:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
    • Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday 9:30 AM–6:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).

Lewisville (CST):

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 10:30 AM–7:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
  • 12:30 PM–9:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
  • Options including Saturdays:
    • Tuesday-Friday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).
    • Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (includes 10% shift differential pay).

Pay

Base pay range: $62,000–$75,000 USD. An individual’s position in the range is determined by role scope, experience, education, certifications, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for variable incentive compensation (bonuses) based on personal and company performance.
