Position Responsibilities
- Manage the daily activities of multiple students and provide clear direction and technical assistance.
- Ensure students understand the material taught and are well prepared to execute tasks on the deck plate.
- Oversee hands-on work to ensure it is conducted safely, driving a culture of first-time quality and safe work habits.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning among students.
- Ensure assigned documents and training tasks meet schedule requirements in a timely manner.
- Ensure safety requirements and procedures are followed by all personnel.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment and effectively engage with all levels of staff, management, and students.
Additional Duties
- Support Operations Managers and the Training Department to ensure training remains relevant and current.
- Collaborate with Design/Build teams to identify and develop new critical skills to support emerging technologies.
- Work with PD and Sheetmetal supervision to identify and justify new equipment needs.
- Identify, plan, and execute Sheetmetal Active Learning Centers to support growth and proficiency demands at Quonset Point.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the sheetmetal discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of Electric Boat experience.
- A certificate, associates, or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with AWPSS, EWP and ECLAD.

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and modular outfitting.

- Ability to work effectively in a team committed to the growth and advancement of trade skills.
- Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Knowledge of EB policies and procedures.
