Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, maintenance, and Level 3 support of enterprise IBM AIX, IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPAR, NIM, and PowerHA environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot IBM PowerVC, including virtual machine provisioning, lifecycle management, capacity optimization, resource monitoring, and virtualization automation.
- Design, deploy, configure, and support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization platforms to modernize and manage traditional virtual machine workloads.
- Perform advanced system administration activities, including AIX upgrades, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, capacity planning, automation, and root cause analysis.
- Manage enterprise storage integration across SAN, NPIV, Fibre Channel, multipathing, and IBM storage platforms.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Shell Scripting, Ansible, Python, and OpenShift CLI to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
- Lead migration and modernization initiatives involving AIX workloads, PowerVM environments, PowerVC, and OpenShift-based virtualization platforms.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, cloud, security, and application teams to design and implement resilient, scalable, and highly available solutions.
- Monitor platform availability, performance, capacity, and security while ensuring compliance with established SLAs, operational standards, and change-management processes.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, and implement preventive and permanent corrective actions.
- Provide Level 3 technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, support technical reviews, and drive operational best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational runbooks.
