Aisles Online Pickup Clerk

About the Role

Responsible for ensuring online orders are efficiently and accurately transported and loaded for our online shoppers. This role involves organizing, gathering, and loading online orders while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in your designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name when possible.
• Assists customers by:
  • Escorting them to products they’re looking for.
  • Securing products that are out of reach.
  • Loading or unloading heavy items.
  • Noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
  • Performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers telephone and emails promptly, providing friendly and helpful service.
• Gathers orders and ensures proper storage at the correct temperature, retrieving them promptly before the customer’s arrival.
• Ensures products maintain proper temperature throughout the entire process.
• Transports orders to the holding area for pickup and loads groceries into the customer’s vehicle.
• Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.
• Tenders customer orders through POS and charges the customer’s credit card.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in using equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, cash registers, trash compactors, forklifts, calculators, telephones, intercoms, cardboard compactors, copiers, and fax machines (within wage and hour guidelines).

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects of no more than 25 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

• Duties are mostly performed in a retail store setting.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes is possible.
• Potential hazards from moving equipment and possible electrical shock.
• Constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
