Airport Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer
About The Position
The Clark County Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking qualified candidates to apply for Airport Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer position. This position will supervise a team of cybersecurity professionals and be responsible for cybersecurity functions for DOA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity threats and an ability to implement and maintain security measures to ensure robust protection against unauthorized access, data loss, or cyberattacks. This position will encompass not only technical measures, but also the governance, risk management, and compliance aspects of cybersecurity. Additionally, the successful candidate will engage in various cybersecurity initiatives, projects, and other duties as assigned, contributing significantly to the DOA’s cybersecurity posture.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, manages, reviews and evaluates the work of professional, technical and/or support staff through subordinate supervisor(s) and/or lead staff.
- Evaluates employee performance and effectively recommends employee selection, administers corrective and disciplinary actions; provides for the continued development of assigned team members, including specific departmental and unit policies and procedures; professional development and administers discipline as required.
- Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the assigned program(s); preparation and administration of the program's budget.
- Directs the development and modification of techniques and formats to evaluate pilot or current program effectiveness and to determine the need for program modification and/or new program development.
- Learns and leads research and development of program alternatives; ensures that the programs are meeting the departmental mission; locates funding sources, service deliverers and other resources; designs and implements program procedures and manuals.
- Makes presentations to a variety of community groups; promotes the programs through developing contacts with various organizations and through media announcements.
- Maintains or directs the maintenance of accurate records and files.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, policies, procedures, program documentation and other written materials.
- Makes decisions and recommendations regarding the implementation of new programs, policies, and procedures.
- Provides assistance to the Managing Director or Manager by handling special projects and/or administrative assignments; assist in the development of the departmental strategic plan, annual report and/or other department related data.
- Monitors assigned program(s); ensures compliance with departmental mission, funding sources regulations and other guidelines.
- Acts as the program, Department of Aviation, and County representative with other departments, community organizations and public and private service providers, general public, funding sources, community and business organizations; answers questions, resolves problems and provides information and technical assistance as required.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance or a field related to the programmatic area to which assigned and four (4) years of full-time related professional level experience, two (2) years of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity, preferably in a public office setting. An advanced degree in appropriate field preferred.
- License and Certifications: Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug examination.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI.
- Must be able to be granted and maintain a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Must be able to maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
