Airport Security Screener *Part Time*

Responsibilities

• Grow in a fulfilling career as an Airport Security Screener at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC)
• Ensure passenger safety by identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and/or on the passengers themselves
• Use outstanding customer service and critical-thinking skills
• Conduct pat-down searches, operate x-ray machines and hand-held wands
• Communicate and interact with travelers, providing directions and responding to inquiries calmly
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds or assist others in lifting
• Stand and remain standing for periods of up to three hours
• Possess proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
• Successfully complete required classroom and on-the-job training and certification exams

Requirements

• Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Pass a computerized assessment (pattern recognition and 2D/3D spatial reasoning)
• Pass and maintain required medical evaluations, including vision, hearing, and joint mobility
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and remain compliant throughout employment
• Meet eligibility requirements for a TSA Public Trust, including successful completion of post-offer background, criminal, and financial checks
• Minimum Clearance to Start: Public Trust

• Ability to work any day, Monday – Sunday, and any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM

Pay

Hourly Wage: $19.46 per hour with a total compensation of $27.17 to include wages, benefits and a retirement plan.
