About the role
The Boise Airport is expanding its facilities to support future transportation needs. We are currently hiring dedicated Airport Custodians and Floor Technicians to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Custodian: Performs routine or repetitive tasks with specific instructions and set procedures. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Cleans and stocks restrooms, vacuums waiting areas, cleans carpets, picks up trash, wipes tables and chairs, spot cleans windows, mops and sweeps hard surface floors, and reports and follows up on safety issues.
- Floor Technician: Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Is capable of performing all duties of a Custodian, and provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group, as needed. Operates and maintains a variety of floor cleaning equipment, cleans airport floors, addresses spills, stains, and other cleanliness concerns, coordinates with colleagues, and provides regular reports on floor cleaning activities.
Requirements
- Custodian: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of maintaining cleaning equipment and products, general cleaning procedures, airport security protocol, mixing rules and regulations of cleaning chemicals and solutions, safety and cleaning products and equipment. Ability to work on ladders and scaffolds up to 20 feet high, remove and lift large amounts of trash and other waste, operate power tools and equipment, identify safety and security hazards, communicate effectively in the English language, and perform all essential functions as assigned.
- Floor Technician: High school diploma or equivalent. Four years of experience working in the custodial field. Knowledge of the operation of various floor cleaning equipment, general cleaning procedures, airport security protocol, mixing rules and regulations of cleaning chemicals and solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and address equipment issues, operate power tools and equipment, identify safety and security hazards, communicate effectively in the English language, and perform all essential functions as assigned.
Licensing and Other Requirements
- Both positions: Complete Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Certifications for 100 & 700 Courses within six months of being hired. Pass City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks. Pass Transportation Security Administration background check (SIDA).
Pay
- Custodian: $16.15-$18.92 per hour
- Floor Technician: $17.53-$20.81 per hour
Schedule
- Shift differential is available for swing and night shifts.
