Primary Function
Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment. Exercises limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work. Understands our quality program.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collects data and gathers information or documents
- Performs standard computations or analysis
- Prepares drawings and visual aids
- Observes construction activities and/or basic survey services and completes accompanying reports
- Affords assistance on other tasks such as: preparation of permit applications, material testing, CADD work, filing air space studies
- Performs moderate design tasks and prepares portions of project documents
- Edits specifications
- Performs research and investigations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineering Intern certification (or have exam scheduled to be completed)
- Experience or knowledge of FAA or DOT Standards and Procedures is helpful
- Software experience should include AutoCAD and/or Microstation
- Background with AutoCAD Civil 3D surface grading is preferred
- Geotechnical and materials engineering experience is favorable
- Knowledge of coordinate systems and GIS mapping is beneficial
- Strong technical/qualitative writing ability
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
