Primary Function

Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment. Exercises limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work. Understands our quality program.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collects data and gathers information or documents
  • Performs standard computations or analysis
  • Prepares drawings and visual aids
  • Observes construction activities and/or basic survey services and completes accompanying reports
  • Affords assistance on other tasks such as: preparation of permit applications, material testing, CADD work, filing air space studies
  • Performs moderate design tasks and prepares portions of project documents
  • Edits specifications
  • Performs research and investigations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Engineering Intern certification (or have exam scheduled to be completed)
  • Experience or knowledge of FAA or DOT Standards and Procedures is helpful
  • Software experience should include AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Background with AutoCAD Civil 3D surface grading is preferred
  • Geotechnical and materials engineering experience is favorable
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems and GIS mapping is beneficial
  • Strong technical/qualitative writing ability
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
