Airport Electrician Specialist - Licensed Unrestricted (High Voltage)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains runway and taxiway lights; troubleshoots to identify the problem and repair as needed.
  • Inspects and makes repairs to taxiway lights and signs that are powered by 2400 volts and current transformers.
  • Performs emergency repairs to runway lights and signs when required.
  • Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Constructs and maintains service equipment.
  • Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
  • Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommends purchases and suppliers.
  • Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
  • Sets poles, strings overhead lines and does overhead line maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Seven years electrical experience and Class II Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License and/or IBEW Journey’s Card.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Associate’s degree with a course of study in Electrical Construction and Maintenance or similar area, or 10 years of related experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance.
