Responsibilities
- Maintains runway and taxiway lights; troubleshoots to identify the problem and repair as needed.
- Inspects and makes repairs to taxiway lights and signs that are powered by 2400 volts and current transformers.
- Performs emergency repairs to runway lights and signs when required.
- Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
- Constructs and maintains service equipment.
- Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
- Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
- Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommends purchases and suppliers.
- Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
- Sets poles, strings overhead lines and does overhead line maintenance.
Qualifications
- Seven years electrical experience and Class II Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License and/or IBEW Journey’s Card.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Associate’s degree with a course of study in Electrical Construction and Maintenance or similar area, or 10 years of related experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance.
