Airport Civil Engineering Intern

As a result of our expansive growth, we have a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on construction sites for airport projects based in Portland, OR (and other various project sites located within the states of OR and WA) starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August/September 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians, and construction managers with civil airport projects including taxiways, runways, aprons, etc.
• Perform measurements and quantity calculations and prepare pay estimates
• Assist with project report preparation
• Perform field inspection and documentation
• Conduct technical research and writing
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background checks to gain access to airport sites
• Frequent travel to construction project sites approximately 100% of the time (may include overnight stays)
• Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position

Qualifications

• Completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by date of hire
