Airport Baggage Handler

Role Purpose

The Baggage Handler is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient loading, unloading, sorting, and transportation of passenger baggage and cargo. This role supports airline operations by ensuring luggage is handled accurately while maintaining compliance with airport safety and security procedures.

What You Will Be Doing

• Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft safely and efficiently
• Sort and transport luggage to designated areas within the airport
• Operate baggage handling equipment, carts, belt loaders, and tugs safely
• Ensure baggage is properly scanned, tagged, and routed to the correct flights
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas and workspaces
• Assist with aircraft arrival and departure operations as needed
• Work collaboratively with ramp agents, supervisors, and airline personnel to meet operational deadlines
• Respond quickly to changing flight schedules and operational needs
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Perform other duties as requested

• Must have reliable telephone and transportation
• Must have previous airline experience
• Must have previous customer service, hospitality baggage handling experience
• Must have ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and airport operational environments
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must have basic communication and teamwork skills
• Must have reliable attendance and punctuality
• Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must have ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
• Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
• Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
• Identification badges must always be visible

Pay

$16.00 Hourly USD
