About the role

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring for Airplane Electronic Engineers (Associate) to join the 787 Electronic Systems (Avionics, Integrated Modular Avionics, Network Systems, & Electrical Subsystems) team located in North Charleston, South Carolina. As a member of the Electronic Systems team, you will develop and support these systems and their components in a sustaining production environment. Project examples include addressing design obsolescence, developing product improvements, supporting production build and test, supporting new customer introduction, and supporting the in-service fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1 or more years’ experience with airplane systems.
  • Experience with Electrical Load Analysis.
  • Familiarity with Engineering requirements: Definition / Verification.
  • Experience with airplane certification or military specifications.

Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet these requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $91,800 - $124,200
