Airframe and Powerplant Technician I

Persons employed as an A&P Mechanic inspect, repair, overhaul, upgrade, and clean aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations, aircraft manufacturer recommendations, and company policies. Technicians maintain detailed records of all work conducted, inspections performed, conditions found, and safety compliance. Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, overhaul, upgrade, and perform general and routine maintenance on aircraft
  • Read and interpret technical data, work orders, and IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog)
  • Make required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions
  • Remove and install aircraft panels
  • Perform basic operational and functional checks
  • Provide nitrogen and oxygen servicing
  • Work in varying weather and environmental conditions (e.g., precipitation, extreme temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, noise)
  • Perform tasks inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft, including spinning propellers and engines

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus zero to two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, and receive/maintain an airport security badge
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
  • High ethical standards and attention to detail, as aircraft maintenance impacts safety and lives

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and routine reports
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings

Pay

$32.06 to $40.07 per hour
