About the role

The role of Airfoil Cell Operator 2nd Shift (onsite) at Pratt & Whitney involves performing routine servicing, setting up and operating simple machines, transporting parts, and carrying out various assembly and finishing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions.
  • Set up and operate simple machines or equipment; operate other grouped simple machines or equipment types to produce parts.
  • Transport parts, raw material and fixtures.
  • Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information and verbal instructions, obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production parts.
  • Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned, using a variety of handheld tools, power tools and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform part preparatory function including various methods of grit blast, shot peening, masking and routine oven operations to clean parts or condition surfaces for coatings.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions.
  • Record results and enter information into computer data systems as required.
  • Absorb and perform tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of work experience with machining methods or equivalent to one year of technical experience.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Schedule

The role is Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
