Airfield Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, design, and construction of airfield lighting and navigational aid projects.
• Perform electrical-related design tasks, including preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications) such as lighting layout, power distribution, lighting controls, electrical facilities, airfield navigational aids, signage, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, prepare design reports, cost estimates, and construction scheduling.
• Assist or oversee construction-related tasks, including on-site construction observation, project engineering, review of RFIs, material submittals, preparation of RFQs, field orders, and change orders.
• Conduct field observation/site visits as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
• Minimum 5 years of aviation electrical engineering experience with demonstrated technical design of airfield ground lighting, navigational aids, lighting controls, and electrical infrastructure projects, including electrical design engineering reports and specifications.
• Understanding and implementation of FAA Advisory Circulars and UFC criteria.
• Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• Experience performing voltage drop, available fault current, and arc-flash calculations is a plus.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $155,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to deliver their best work while fostering in-person collaboration.
