About the role

The AH-64 Quality Inspector will support the US Army Flight Test Directorate (AFTD) at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Support includes conducting full on-site maintenance flight/functional Check Flight Operations, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and managing internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records. Support must comply with current Army directives, including AR 95-1 and AR 95-20.

Responsibilities

  • Implement quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect all phases of a variety of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Ensure all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
  • Communicate deficiencies to proper personnel and follow up to ensure corrections are made.
  • Accurately document results of all inspections.
  • Maintain accurate quality control files.
  • May be required to perform other additional duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ Army Aviation maintenance experience.
  • Completed a military aircraft repairer school for AH-64A/D/E.
  • At least 3+ years’ Army Aviation maintenance quality control experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • At least 2 years’ experience related to developmental flight testing.
  • FAA A&P License required.
  • Working knowledge of ACN, including associated historical forms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in management, production management, aviation maintenance, professional aeronautics with technical specializations, or aviation quality (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of Army rotary wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations (highly desired).
  • Verifiable experience applying aircraft maintenance techniques and quality control functions to include automated TAMMS-A.
  • Graduated from BNOCC (ALC) or equivalent Technical Inspector Course from other services in the Armed Forces.

  • Basic mathematical computations.
  • Effective communication with all levels of management and staff.
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn additional computer skills/software programs.
