Aircraft Mechanic III (Electrician or Sheet Metal) - CFT B047 MS

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise aircraft maintenance and TCTO modification efforts on T-6A aircraft in accordance with TCTO 1T-6A-876.
• Perform and oversee installation of ABOS modification kits (P/N 133-5034-0001 and associated components).
• Execute technical directive compliance and aircraft modifications in strict accordance with engineering data and PWS requirements.
• Cookinate daily activities with the site COR and communicate all technical concerns, discrepancies, or clarification requests through proper channels.
• Interpret and apply blueprints, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and TCTO instructions to accomplish modification tasks.
• Perform aircraft logbook entries and maintenance documentation in accordance with applicable USAF procedures.
• Ensure all contractor-furnished tools and special tools (per TCTO Section 5.3) are available, serviceable, and properly maintained.
• Operate and inspect required Support Equipment (SE).
• Provide technical guidance, instruction, and mentorship to Mechanic I and II personnel.
• Support TDY travel, if required, to other installation sites (e.g., Vance AFB or Sheppard AFB) to ensure modification continuity and mission completion.

Requirements

• Aircraft Mechanic III – Electrical: Minimum three (3) years aircraft maintenance experience relevant to assigned specialty. Demonstrated experience as a lead aircraft electrician. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and TCTOs. Ability to recognize incomplete or unclear technical data and formally request clarification through the COR.
• Aircraft Mechanic III – Sheet Metal: Minimum three (3) years aircraft maintenance experience relevant to assigned specialty. Demonstrated leadership experience guiding and supervising maintenance personnel. Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems including structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and flight controls (as applicable). Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal fabrication equipment. Ability to identify unclear technical guidance and route clarification requests through the COR. Aircraft environmental systems and oxygen servicing experience highly desired.
