About the role

The Contractor Field Team (CFT) is tasked with performing Intermediate (I) and Depot (D) Levels of Maintenance work on T-56 engines, Quick Engine Change Kits (QEC) kits, modules, assemblies, parts, and accessories for C-130 aircraft in support of the Engine Regional Repair Center (ERRC).

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled engine inspections IAW applicable Technical Data.
  • Analyzes malfunctions using schematic and wiring diagrams, blueprints, fault isolation manuals, manufacturer's specifications, computer diagnostics data, inspection findings, trending data, and aircrew debriefs.
  • Performs and assists with test cell operation of uninstalled engines and makes final adjustments and verifies that engine is operating within acceptable parameters for safe operation.
  • Schedules and documents maintenance activities on Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) related to support aircraft engines IAW applicable Technical Data.
  • Oversees operations of other CFT members and ensures established timelines remain on schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Aircraft Engine Technician with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Aircraft Mechanic II.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • Must have a working knowledge of technical publications.

Skills

  • Technical knowledge of T56 engine repairs.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and lead teams through more complex tasks.
