Principal Accountabilities
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions
- Apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation
- Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems
- Interpret technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals
Minimum Requirements
- Able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current airframe and power plant mechanic (A&P) certificate
- Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
- Working knowledge of technical publications
- Able to follow base, federal and Company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
- Proficient in Office software applications to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties
- Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead
- Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time
- Pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Occasionally work in areas where high noise hazards prevail, thus requiring the use of adequate ear protection
Preferred Qualifications
- Employed as a full-time aircraft mechanic within the past twelve (12) months
- Experience working full-time as an aircraft mechanic for 3-5 years
Compensation Details
Hourly Rate: $44.90
